BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMEnjoy peace of mind knowing that your child is in a safe, fun and responsibly supervised environment before and after the school day. Whether your child needs care every day, one day a week, or only on days when school is closed, you pay only for the care you need. Lancaster Rec Before and After School Programs provide state-certified child care for children whose parents are working or are in training. Programs are held in 12 School District of Lancaster elementary schools from 6:30 a.m. to the start of the school day and 3:15 to 6 p.m. (every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 12:30 to 6 p.m.). We provide full-day care at the Lancaster Rec Center on weekdays when school is closed. We also provide care for middle school students at these elementary schools: Buchanan (Wheatland students), Fulton (Reynolds students), Washington (Hand students), and Wickersham (Lincoln students). Our staff will walk your child to the middle school after the before school program and walk him or her from the middle school to the elementary school after school program when the school day is over. There is a $7 weekly fee for this service. Our Before and After School Program staff plans and conducts activities and lessons to support each child's development and learning. The goals of our activity-based curriculum are to help children meet state standards in academic areas, reinforce classroom learning, improve social and communication skills and help children be more physically active. We participate in the state Keystone Stars quality child care initiative. The Star standards evaluate staff qualifications, professional development, program environment, partnerships with family and community, and leadership and management. All of our 12 before and after school sites have attained the Star 4 level, the highest rating for a child care program. Click for more details on Keystone Stars. If you are applying for CCIS, you must print out and return the forms listed below. Or you may register by printing out and returning the forms listed below. All information must be filled in completely to process your registration. Children entering Kindergarten and 6th grade must have a physical completed by a physician within the last calendar year. Children in all other grades must have a copy of a completed physical form on file with Lancaster Rec.
