Happy Hearts Club

Join the Happy Hearts Club, for adults age 50 and up. Weekly activities promote fun, friendship, continued learning, community involvement and wellness. Meet new friends, stay active and enrich your life. Happy Hearts Club members enjoy the recreation activities listed below. Annual membership fee is $10 resident/$12.50 non-resident.

Fitness Classes

Get moving and get fit! We hold group fitness and dance classes throughout the year. Relieve stress, increase energy and improve your quality of life.

Lancaster Senior Orchestra

This fun-loving 45-member group practices and performs under the direction of conductor Warren Mansur with assistance by orchestra manager Ted Weitzel, Jr. Practice is held on Wednesday, 9:30-11:30 a.m., September through May. Concerts are performed for retirement groups, homes and communities; churches, civic organizations, school groups and service clubs throughout Lancaster County.

Lancaster Senior Games

Exercising Body, Mind and Spirit - the first full week in June for Lancaster County residents age 55 and up. This week-long event combines sports, recreation, friendly competition and fellowship, with over 55 fun activities to choose from. Held at Franklin and Marshall College and many other locations. Must register by early May. Visit the Senior Games web site.

Buffalo Gals and Sidekicks Line Dancing Troupe

This coed line dancing troupe believes that dancing is a great activity that keeps you fit! Practice is held on Monday, 1-2 p.m., September through May at the Lancaster Rec Center. The troupe performs throughout Lancaster County for retirement groups, schools, churches, civic organizations and service clubs.

Bus Trips

Relax in style, save money on gas, make memories with old and new friends, experience new places and have fun while traveling. Annual trips are planned to Atlantic City and other casinos, and regional attractions such as Longwood Gardens and the Pennsylvania Gift Show at the Farm Show Complex.

Bridge

Enjoy playing non-competitive bridge. Meets year-round on Friday from 12:30-3 p.m. at the Lancaster Rec Center, Lower Level.

Saturday Evening Pinochle Parties

Relax and enjoy yourself playing pinochle! Prizes are awarded to the top scorers. Refreshments are available. Party is held at Rodney Park Community Center every Saturday (except second Saturday of the month) from 7-9:30 p.m. $3 each night.

Indoor Shuffleboard

Come for the fun, a little exercise and to be with friends on great courts. Play on Wednesday, September through May from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Rec Center. Attend any Wednesday you wish. $2 each day.

Pepper Softball

Every player gets the chance to bat a pitched softball for two rounds while hitting to each fielder playing that day. Meets Thursday year-round from 1:30-3 p.m. indoors at the Lancaster Rec Center or at 10:30 a.m. outdoors at Lancaster Township Community Park during nice weather days. Register online now.

Painting & Drawing Art Studio Class

Bring out your creativity and express yourself through drawing and painting. Class meets on Monday from 1-3 p.m. from September through May at the Lancaster Rec Center. $21 resident/ $26.25 non-resident for 4 weeks. Register online now.
