YOUTH SPORTS

Get up to 75% off the cost of sports programs that are 100% fun! Children ages 18 and under who qualify to receive free or reduced lunch and live in the City of Lancaster or Lancaster Township can get a scholarship to help with program registration fees. Applications are accepted year round.

To apply for a scholarship, fill out and return the application form below. Be sure to read the scholarship guidelines. You must complete and return the parent survey form with your application form.

Ages 6-11. A high-energy workout party! A Zumba class designed specifically for children with easy to follow routines, kid friendly music, and interactive games to help boost your child's metabolism and boost coordination. Pint-Sized Fitness

Ages 3-5. Fitness fun for you tiny ones! Classes are designed to teach children and parents specific exercise techniques to help improve fine and gross motor skills during this most influential period in a young life. Swimming Lessons: January-December (Ages 6 months - 12 years)

Dive in! Our friendly, patient instructors help children get comfortable in the water. Lessons focus on beginner and advanced skills and are held indoors at the Phoenix Academy Pool and outdoors at Conestoga Pines Pool. Register online now.

Iddy Biddy Sports: January-December (Ages 3-5)

Get off to a great sporting start with your preschooler! This coed program eases your child into the world of sports. Kids and parents get accustomed to an organized practice in a fun, non-threatening experience. Instructors focus on sport specific skills as well as incorporating hand-eye coordination and agility. 5-week sessions in basketball, baseball, tennis, flag football and soccer are offered at the Lancaster Rec Center gym.

Boy's Teen League Basketball: February-May (Grades 7-10)

Nothing but net! Play is competitive with the spotlight on learning, improving and having fun. Playing time is balanced so players of all ability levels can develop skills through game play. Coaches encourage good sportsmanship and teamwork. Games and practices are held at School District of Lancaster gyms.

Flag Football League: March-May (Ages 6-14)

No tackles...no problem! Boys and girls learn football skills and plays in a non-contact environment. Fun, fast-paced practices and games are held at Reservoir Park fields.

Gymnastics: March-May (Ages 3-10)

Let's get ready tumble! Children learn the basic gymnastics movements including cartwheels, handstands, back bends and more. Our experienced instructor and age-appropriate equipment complete this great program. Register online now.

Field Hockey Clinic: April-May, September-October (Grades 3-6)

Get in the zone...the field hockey zone! Learn the basic techniques and tactics of this fun, energetic sport. Whether you're preparing for your season or just want to learn the game, our talented instructors will ensure that you develop as a player! Clinic is held at Lancaster Community Park.

Track and Field: April-June (Ages 8-14)

On your mark...get set...GO! The coed Red Rose Track Club focuses on teaching the basics of track and field and is a great way to get your child active and healthy. Instructors stress running technique and proper mechanics while building endurance and confidence. Practices are held at the McCaskey High School track. Register online now.

Little League Baseball/ASA Softball Leagues: April-June (Ages 5-15)

Batter up! Learn the fundamentals in our tee ball league and move your way up through junior league baseball and 14 and under softball. Boys and girls enjoy being part of a team and friendly competition. Practices and games are held at Lancaster Community Park, Buchanan Park and School District of Lancaster ball fields. Register in January and February at the Lancaster Rec Center.

Tennis Lessons: April-October (Ages 5-18)

Serving up aces! Our youth tennis programs emphasize fun and fitness. Learn and refine the skills that make tennis fun and great exercise for a lifetime. Lessons are held at Buchanan Park and McCaskey High School tennis courts. Register online now.

Summer Team Basketball Leagues: June-August

(Boys Grades 3-12; Girls Grades 3-12)

Shoot for the stars! Fine tune your basketball skills during the off season. Players continue to develop in a less competitive environment focused on improvement and fun. Games are played outdoors at Brandon and Buchanan Parks. Team registration only.

Cheerleading: July-November (Ages 7-14)

Get fired up! Our cheerleaders support Sertoma Jr. Tornado Football teams. Participants learn cheer fundamentals while showing their spirit, making friends and having fun. Practices are held at Conestoga Pines Barn. Squads cheer at football games throughout Lancaster County on weekends during the fall. For little ones, the Pep Squad for 5 and 6-year-olds is a perfect match.

Little Hoopers Basketball: October-November, January-March (Grades K-2)

Nothing but net! This fundamental program develops a strong skill foundation with appreciation for the game of basketball. Players participate in scrimmages to experience a non-competitive game environment. Practices are held in School District of Lancaster gyms with scrimmages played at the Lancaster Rec Center.

Boys and Girls Basketball Leagues: November-February (Grades 3-6)

It's a slam dunk! These two leagues offer great fundamental basketball experiences for boys and girls. Players receive equal playing time to create an atmosphere of skill development and sportsmanship. Practices and games are held at School District of Lancaster gyms.
