Presented by Lancaster Rec and held in partnership with Lancaster City and the Lancaster Bikes program, Open Streets Lancaster is a free family-friendly event that temporarily transforms Water Street into a paved playground. Pedestrian traffic replaces car traffic and people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can discover their talents, uncover new interests and improve their general well-being.

The route features activities promoting physical and mental health, as well as local bands and musicians, food trucks and opportunities to learn about non-profits and small businesses.

Our event reimagines transportation and community connections throughout the City of Lancaster. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, blade, and skate to the event and to meaningfully meet their neighbors.

We hope you’ll join us this year and enjoy your City from a different perspective. The best part? It’s FREE to attend! Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your pets!
