While it’s normal to want to make a difference when you volunteer, there is more to volunteering than merely what you can give to others. Lancaster Rec volunteers get a lot out of the experience, too.

Volunteering does wonders for your mind, body and spirit. Meeting new people and helping others makes you feel more connected, happy and confident. In addition, your community service allows our funds to be stretched farther to provide quality and affordable recreation and learning programs for all ages.

Many of our programs rely on volunteer help. Adult volunteers coach youth sports, help out at senior centers, assist with family special events, lead classes, and provide entertainment. Teens volunteer as summer camp counselors-in-training and junior playground leaders.
